1) Standing calf raises

A great mass-exercise for the calves. As a matter of fact the best there is.
The subject stands with his/her toes on the foot-support of a calf-raise-machine. Lifting the weight by sliding his/her shoulder under the pads, he/she slowly lowers his/her body and the weight it’s carrying extending the calf as much as possible at the bottom of the motion. Pausing for a second he/she lifts the weight and body back getting up tip-toe as far as possible.
Extra considerations: - after fatiguing the calf one can still squeeze in a few more reps by using the cheating principle.
