3) Dumbbell presses

Aim of the exercise: the side and front deltoids.
At a first glance this exercise might seem similar to barbell presses, so why do it with dumbbells as well?- one might ask
On other pages of this site we iterated a few times that doing exercises with free weight instead of machines that limit the motion in some way yields far better results for some reason.
Dumbbell presses give a much better range of motion than barbell presses do. Not only does one have to pay attention to controlling two weights at the same time, but also he/she will be able to lift the two dumbbells higher than he/she would a barbell.
Considerations in the “Behind the neck presses” section also apply here
