8) Standing lateral raises.

This exercise aims to isolate the side deltoids, and work them thoroughly even though the front and rear heads of the deltoids get in on the action too.
The subject begins in a seated position (can be done standing upright too, but if seated tendency to cheat can be overcome) holding a dumbbell in each hand down his/her sides.
He/she then slowly lifts the weights out and to the side, turning the wrists a bit in a motion that resembles pouring water out of a glass. The weights should be lifted just a bit above shoulder-level, then lowered slowly.
Special considerations:
- avoid rocking back and forth during the exercise ( it is a common cheating method)
